First samples of the prototype plastic racket attachment system have arrived form the manufacturers, designed by Jonathan Banks of Dezign Ideaz. The idea is to have a two part system. The black nylon dock will attach pretty permanently to the racket, under the grip, with some tape and sticky pads to keep it securely in place. The PCB and battery will go into the pod composed of the blue top and clear base. This pos can then be removed by the player whenever they do not want to use the sensor, or to take it home to re-charge it, or to swap it between rackets for example. There’s a rubber overmold on the pod top to protect the sensor should it get dropped. The nylon dock is super string and should hold the sensor in place during the hardest shots.
